Functional Assessment is the assessment of muscle strength or weakness or imbalances present through an active test or passive test or resistant strength test. This method of testing will give information on what muscle groups are functioning and ones that are not.
For postural assessment the patient is to stand still with feet shoulder width apart facing forward with arms relaxed to the sides. To assess the posture the location of how head, shoulders knees hips and feet are placed. Other observations would be the curvature of the spine and the difference of one side of the body to the other in structures for example how the scapular sits or the height of one shoulder to the other.
Functional Assessment and Postural Analysis is used to develop your tailored treatment program to relieve pain and improve your wellbeing.
